About Mar del Plata

Popularly known as the "Ciudad Feliz", Mar del Plata combines the charm and beauty of its natural resources with the high quality infrastructure, services and hospitality of its people. Located in the Province of Buenos Aires, it is the most important seaside resort in Argentina. Mar del Plata has a temperate climate dominated by masses of humid, hot, sea subtropical air and an average temperature of over 22º C in the hottest month. Long beaches, dunes, cliffs and ravines help you enjoy the sun of the summer through bike crossings, horse rides or quad excursions. In the air, you can enjoy paragliding, tandem or baptism flights. In the sea, water sports stand out: swimming, windsurfing, jet skiing, diving and sailing. The most outstanding attractions are the Colón Square, the Torreón del Monje (The Tower of the Monk), Los Troncos neighbourhood, the Harbor and Mar del Plata Sailing Club, Punta Mogotes, Barrancas de los Lobos, De los Padres Hill and Lagoon, and Chapadmalal Beach apart from the Crafts Fair and the Sea Museum. Nightlife in Mar del Plata has plenty of alternatives: pubs, discos, casino and bingos are ready to receive the most demanding tourists. Theater tickets are sold out when the most important plays of the season are on stage.
